Coyote Hunting in Maine

The month of October brings with it the change of leaves and cooling of temperatures along with the opening of small game hunting. The North Maine Woods with its vast area of clear cuts, logging roads and multiple impassable roads and trails has long been the destination of many residents looking for partridge (Ruffed Grouse) to go along with Saturday’s beans or Sunday nights supper. More recently our neighbors to the South have come to realize that with or without being accompanied by a dog they can enjoy as many flushes and sightings a week, or occasionally a day, as they can find in a season at home.

This relaxing hunt takes place in one of the last remaining, undeveloped areas in the East. Although this is a non-guided hunt, we have maps available and an unmatched knowledge of the area to share with you and get you headed into the Maine Woods and its non-crowded allure. With a liberal bag limit of 4 birds a day and a possession limit of 8, one can keep themselve’s busy. On days you finish early or look for a change, you can get out the coyote call (either electronic or mouth) and try to lure in one of the most elusive canines on the planet, With weights reaching up to the 60-pound level and no limit on numbers, you can combine two exciting hunts for the price of one.
